Do I need an internet connection for remote viewing?

0 minutes, 46 seconds Read

An internet connection is required for remote viewing on hidden cameras. The hidden camera must be connected to the internet either through a Wi-Fi network or through cellular data. A few cameras on the market also support Bluetooth connections. The remote viewing feature allows the user to access the live or recorded footage from the hidden camera from anywhere in the world using a smartphone, tablet, or computer connected to the internet. It is recommended to have a high-speed internet connection for optimal viewing experience and to avoid buffering or lag.

There are also spy cameras on the market which offer Access Point (AP) modes. Setting your camera to work in AP mode allows any WiFi device to connect directly to the camera for remote video footage viewing. Due to the range of WiFi signals this can only work on short distances. Check each camera’s specifications to learn if it supports working in AP mode.
